Saori-Sakiori
Itoshima, Japan, 2026
This practice combines the traditional art of Sakiori—giving fabrics a second life through shredded rags and old haoris found at Book-Off—with Saori, a modern weaving philosophy that celebrates complete creative freedom, human error, and unique artistic expression. Work and process presented via exhibition, performance and talk at Studio Kura in Itoshima Japan during residency.
Throughout the two-day exhibition, a continuous performance took place: cutting fabric strips from the leftover material used in the weaves and rolling them into large balls, transforming the space into an active site of process.
Unwoven Personas
As faces are woven, tension, irregularity, and rupture become structural elements, exposing the capacity of the woven surface to capture and archive bodily intensity. Born from weaving processes of self-inquiry, these textiles serve as study objects in hands-on workshops dedicated to self-expression through free weaving, as well as being integrated into commissions and exhibitions.

The Woven Childhood Stage

This tactile scenography reawakens the nostalgic freedom of Sweden’s 1970s and 80s Parklek culture. Through woven marionettes of bodies, animals, and plants, the installation channels the period's distinct aesthetics to reconnect both artist and audience with their inner child. The piece embodies a weaving process of personal memories from a collective childhood, serving as the scenography for the Parklek workshops "Artcraft is loveCraft," exhibited alongside workshops at Kramfors Centrumbildning.
ArtCraft is LoveCraft

Artcraft is Lovecraft – weaving for social inclusion, aimed to use the cultural and historical significance of the Swedish Parklek to share weaving as a living, collective practice.
The project was made possible through a 2025+ grant from the Swedish National Handicraft Council (NFH).
The Artcraft is Lovecraft project featured a workshop where participants learned the rya knot, contributed to an open-frame collective weaving, and shared personal weavings brought from home, objects carrying memory and meaning. Participants included long– established Swedish families as well as families newly arrived in Sweden, gathering around thread, story, and touch.
The project evolved through pop-up performances and open-frame weaving sessions in Parklek spaces and other public environments. Over the summer, the tapestries created in each location traveled to the next and the collective weave grew with every stop, thread by thread, park by park.
I Reclaim myself as Home

A woven piece about looking within. It balances patience and structure with raw edges and loose threads, showing that wholeness doesn't come from completeness, but from embracing the imperfect and fragile.
